Center for Disaster Philanthropy in Nepal

The Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) is a global organization whose mission it is to transform disaster giving by providing timely and thoughtful strategies that increase donor impact as it pertains to domestic and international disasters. Their well thought out approach to disaster relief brings greater attention to the full life cycle of disasters; from preparedness and planning, to relief, rebuilding and recovery efforts.

In December 2015, Project HOPE received its first grant from CDP for a one-year health care program in Nepal. Through this program, funds from CDP will be used to support improvements in maternal and child health care services provided in the Makawanpur District, a location severely affected by the 2015 earthquakes in Nepal. With support from CDP, Project HOPE will also work toward educating those affected by the disaster on healthy hygiene and nutritional practices; safeguarding the resiliency of these vulnerable populations before the next disaster strikes.

Project HOPE is grateful to have a new partner in CDP. Together, we will diligently work toward improving the overall health of individuals struggling to recover from disaster and building their resiliency for the future.
