Volunteers aboard the USNS Comfort conducted a 12-country health education humanitarian assistance mission to Belize, Guatemala, Panama, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana and Suriname. Project HOPE volunteers alongside Navy medical personnel treated nearly 96,000 patients, performed more than 1,100 surgeries, administered more than 32,000 vaccinations and conducted thousands of health care education classes during this 2007 mission.
