When the CloudRacers, runners from the Cornerstone on Demand team, took to the streets for the 2016 Los Angeles Marathon Charity Relay on February 14, they were running for HOPE.
Cornerstone on Demand provides the cloud-based talent management and software platform used by Project HOPE’s Human Resources department. But the partnership has always gone beyond the business platform. Cornerstone helped support the development of Project HOPE’s IDEEL online diabetes education course in India and also provided free disaster readiness training for individuals who participated in Project HOPE’s first Day of Crisis event in Dallas in 2015.
This year, Cornerstone on Demand was more than eager to use their annual LA Marathon participation to support HOPE’s lifesaving work around the globe.
Inspired by Project HOPE’s ongoing work in the Philippines in response to the devastating 2013 Typhoon, the Cornerstone CloudRacers team committed to raising $15,000 to strengthen HOPE’s continuing Maternal and Child Health program in the Philippines and support the thousands left without access to adequate health care after the massive storm. “What an amazing opportunity this gave the marathon participants to actually save a life with every $1 raised during the event,” echoed the 30 participants in this year’s relay.
So far, the CloudRacers have raised nearly $13,000 of the $15,000 goal.
