Giselle Rackley lives in San Antonio, Texas and works in the medical field, the neurodiagnostics field to be exact. As her December birthday and the holiday season approached, Giselle, a mother of three, decided she wanted something more meaningful under her tree and by her birthday cake this year. So she decided to donate both her birthday and her Christmas to Project HOPE. “I have all or most of what I really need, so why not spread a little love to those who have trouble getting their basic health and medical needs met,” she said.
Giselle researched several different charities online. “I saw that Project HOPE offered medical assistance to those in need worldwide. I also appreciated the high rating Project HOPE earned on Charity Navigator. As I compared the charities, I really appreciated Project HOPE for its vision, and longevity. The fundraising setup was easy too.”
Giselle set up a personal fundraising page on Project HOPE’s website, and effortlessly sent out messages to her friends and family, letting them know in lieu of holiday and birthday gifts, she would prefer a donation being made to Project HOPE in her name.
“I am not really an altruistic person at all, so I hope and pray that this fundraiser for such a worthy cause can melt my Grinch heart and open my arms to serve others and continue to be a part of what's good in the world,” she said. “I also like to teach my children by example.”
Giselle is not only providing an amazing role model for her kids, she is also offering inspiration to potential Project HOPE donors everywhere. We can’t thank you enough Giselle, for helping us meet the medical needs of vulnerable people around the globe and spreading the word about Project HOPE’s lifesaving work.
Giselle’s birthday and the holidays may be over, but you can help keep her giving spirit going by making a donation to Giselle’s Project HOPE Fundraiser today.
