Project HOPE began sending medical volunteers to Liberia in 2008 as part of the Africa Partnership Station. Volunteers provided care and training to local health professionals at the JFK Memorial Hospital in Monrovia.
Most recently, HOPE sent an 11-person surgical team to the country to train Liberian surgeons, conduct surgery at Phebe Hospital, outside Monrovia, and instruct 100 medical professionals from across West Africa.
