During the early '90's HOPE launched several initiatives in the Czech Republic including a nursing program, a training program on women's health issues such as cancer prevention and early detection, counseling for young pregnant women, neonatal outreach education, biomedical engineering programs, and healthcare policy.

In 1992 Project HOPE began a program targeting middle managers in hospitals with the goal of improving patient care by upgrading the management skills of key hospital and health professional staff. These key professionals were trained on topics such as human resource management, policy and financial analysis and marketing.

Project HOPE again began to engage health care managers in 2009 to increase patient safety in 15 hospitals in the Czech Republic. The five year program seeks to educate and train 60 health managers on best practices in risk management, quality assurance and infection control. This program builds on Project HOPE's previous experience in health care management training by providing continuing education to improve patient safety in health institutions.
