Project HOPE in Asia and the Middle East
Perhaps no other region is as diverse culturally, economically, or in terms of religion as the Asia region, which includes China and Southeast Asia. Yet in spite of their differences, each country faces similar health threats. HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, avian influenza, women’s cancers, and diabetes have been identified by multiple countries as important health issues to be confronted.
In response to these requests, Project HOPE created successful program models capable of being replicated in multiple settings. These programs hold true to HOPE’s six core areas of expertise by providing education for health professionals from all levels addressing issues related to infectious diseases and women’s health.
Future programs will have a greater emphasis on cross-country collaboration, sharing of information, experiences, and best practices, all of which play a significant role in our program development and implementation plan.
