HOPE Highlighting More Than a Decade of Experience in NCD Programs

Worldwide, chronic, or non-communicable diseases (NCDs) contribute to 60% of deaths, 80% of which occur in low and middle income countries. Treating and managing chronic disease in low-income countries is one of the focuses of Securing a Healthier Future in a Changing World, the 38th Global Health Council Conference being held in Washington D.C., June 13-17, 2011.
As an organization dedicated to successful chronic disease programming around the globe for more than a decade, Project HOPE is showcasing its NCD experience at the annual conference attended by more than 2,000 global health practitioners, world leaders, activists, public and private organizations, members of academia and researchers.
Project HOPE is highlighting our NCD programming experience at the hospital, community and school-based levels around the world, including India, Mexico, China, United States, Egypt, Poland, Iraq, Guatemala, Honduras and Peru, at a newly designed display booth in the conference exhibit hall.
On Friday, at 11:00 a.m., in the Diplomat Conference Room, Project HOPE will present a panel discussion at the conference: Public‐private partnerships to improve chronic disease health services in China.
The Global Health Council is the world’s largest membership alliance of public health organizations and professionals dedicated to saving lives by improving health throughout the world. The Council’s members work in more than 150 countries on six continents.
