The PACANGEL women’s health team members, composed of Project HOPE and U.S Air Force nurses and physicians conducted an ultrasound examination of a Vietnamese woman in this photo. The team learned the woman has two children, a boy and a girl. Thanks to Pacific Angel she now knows she’ll be having a little girl, due on October 13.
In this photo, Project HOPE Certified Nurse Midwife Ha Nguyen, checks a Vietnamese woman’s throat. Ha grew up in Vietnam before moving to the United States and studying for her nursing and midwife degrees at UCLA. She now practices in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The PACANGEL mission to Vietnam is her first Project HOPE mission. Ha’s native Vietnamese language speaking ability made her one of the most popular health care providers on the joint HOPE/US Air Force health team as she struck up an immediate bond with her fellow Vietnamese countrymen.
