We held our "Habits for Life" kick-off event and gave our first health screenings to the very grateful McLean family from Fort Worth.
This week, we are officially beginning “Habits for Life,” our community health program to combat chronic disease in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
On Thursday night, we held our kick-off event at the Cooper Institute. Not only did we hear from John P. Howe, III, M.D., President and CEO of Project HOPE and NFL great Roger Staubach, but we also gave our first health screenings to the very grateful McLean family from Fort Worth.
We measured height, weight, blood pressure, BMI and a number of other health indicators. Our on-site HOPE volunteers illustrated the importance of drinking water, daily exercise and a healthy diet. We even found time for a few games (exercise can be fun!) and gave everyone their own jump rope, resistance band and pedometer.
We’re very excited for our mobile health clinic to travel to other cities in the Metroplex area and help families develop healthy habits together.
