Project HOPE and Urban Plates Team up for Good Health for People Everywhere

Millwood, Va. (April 3, 2019) – Project HOPE and fine fast casual restaurant Urban Plates are joining forces this World Health Day to shine a light on the importance of good health and good health care. Urban Plates will donate 5% of sales at their three Washington-area locations on Sunday, April 7, to support Project HOPE.

With an emphasis on high quality food at an affordable price, Urban Plates empowers guests to make equally wholesome and delicious food choices.

“Food sustains us, community uplifts us,” says Gil Fornaris, vice president of Urban Plates’ East Coast Operations. “As a brand we work hard to combine the two through partnerships. We’re proud to support Project HOPE in their effort to make our world a better, healthier place.”

Project HOPE works around the world wherever the need is greatest to address public-health challenges and train and support the local health workforce. The organization responds to health crises and disasters, such as Cyclone Idai in Mozambique, and stays in communities long after disaster strikes to help find lasting solutions to epidemics and any other neglected health needs.

Urban Plates patrons can visit any of the three Washington-area locations – Tysons Galleria (Virginia), Westfield Montgomery (Bethesda, Maryland) and The Mall in Columbia (Columbia, Maryland) – on April 7 to enjoy wholesome food and learn more about good health around the world. At the Bethesda location, Urban Plates will host a presentation ceremony for Project HOPE officials, at noon.
