Project HOPE on Alert as Carolinas Under Threat of Massive Flooding
Posted: September 13, 2018
Project HOPE is deeply concerned for the health and well-being of communities struck by Hurricane Florence. Unprecedented flooding and heavy rains from the slow-moving storm have caused serious flood risks in the Carolinas. We are in contact with local officials and partners to assess health needs and are on standby to respond. While Project HOPE’s emergency response typically focuses on international crises, we deploy domestically when we are needed. We are also concerned for communities affected by Super Typhoon Mangkhut, which has caused widespread damage in Southeast Asia and loss of life across the Philippines and China.
