Project HOPE today expresses its deepest sadness at the loss of our peers in the global AIDS community who were en route to attend the 20th International AIDS Conference in Australia when their Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 crashed over Ukraine on July 17. Words cannot express our sorrow at the loss of the highly-esteemed researchers, medical scientists, doctors, and other AIDS activists who have been on the frontlines of the global battle against HIV/AIDS.
