
Cinira Baldi
Cinira Baldi is an experienced communications and development expert re-structuring and re-launching brands and teams – to meet their highest potential. With a focus on audience insights, analytics and research, she develops a vision and plan to achieve market interest and then devises strategies and tactics to create the storytelling to engage and win share of mind.
In her role at Project HOPE, Cinira focuses on developing strategic partnerships and creating new opportunities to increase the reach of HOPE’s impact. She recently created and gained approval from the board of directors to embark on a 4 year $15 million dollar investment to capacity build in fundraising in order to grow Project HOPE’s relief and development programs.
Prior to joining Project HOPE, Cinira led the Mass Markets team for Mercy Corps. This team was comprised of engagement marketing and fundraising with a goal to increase brand awareness; grow a sustainable base of donors and revenue; and to increase influence and impact through digital strategies. Including direct marketing; website; social media; marketing communications; and donor advancement, she led her team in using best practices in marketing and fundraising. Her team raised more than 67% of the agency’s unrestricted revenue and in three years, she grew the organization from $8.9M to $15.5M in net unrestricted revenue.
Her international development and humanitarian experience includes; complex crisis and fragile states, climate change and effects on global health, refugees and migrants and disaster response. She has spent time working with the programs in Uganda, Thailand, Jordan, Dominican Republic, China and Indonesia.
She has spent almost two decades in marketing, product development and retail in the corporate sector. With an early career in retail marketing, she was tapped at Qwest Communications to lead the marketing and sales organization in launching the first ever retail channel – which included over 100 store locations. After a fulfilling career at Qwest, she went to work for the Omnicom agency – SCA Direct, to lead their Marketing and Business Development team. Working with well-known clients such as CARE, Defenders of Wildlife and Environmental Defense Fund – she found that her business acumen and corporate experience was of great value to the nonprofit sector. Cinira also led the integrated membership retention program with AARP in Washington DC. Her role was key in integration across the advocacy, brand, fundraising and product teams.
Cinira holds a BA in Psychology from George Mason University. She has had extensive training in leadership development and change management; and prides herself on leading through sea change to ensure a smooth transition, and in accessing individual’s strengths in order to build high performing teams.
