“There continues to be a shortage of skilled health care workers just about everywhere. HOPE’s approach comes right to the heart of this. We always team with people on the ground – training, educating and leaving sustainable capability.”
Reynold W. “Pete” Mooney joined Project HOPE’s Board of Directors in January 2013 and was named Chairman of the Board in October 2018. Previously, he spent over two decades in various leadership roles in global health care, life science, and manufacturing, most recently as Global Managing Director of Deloitte’s Life Science & Health Care Practice. Mr. Mooney holds a B.A. in History from Washington & Jefferson College and an M.B.A in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Graduate School of Business.
His work with Project HOPE began as a pro bono consulting arrangement that saw him assist with global strategy development including work for HOPE in Europe. Mr. Mooney played an integral role in the establishment of the Project HOPE Swiss International Foundation (PHSIF) in 2016, a charitable organization created to leverage HOPE’s corporate partnerships in Switzerland and Europe for fundraising activities benefitting health education and humanitarian aid in developing countries.
Mr. Mooney plans to use his decades of consulting and strategic leadership experience in Asia, South America, and Europe to continue broadening Project HOPE’s global influence. He believes that HOPE’s emphasis on supporting health care workers on the front lines of today’s global epidemics and crises will have an increasingly significant impact in developing regions with the need for lasting health care infrastructure.
