Sergey Nikolin is Project HOPE’s Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. He began his international development career 30 years ago working at various USAID country offices successfully managing operations in senior financials roles. Since then, he has overseen finance and accounting functions of a large number of non-profit organizations, working both internationally and domestically. His experience ranges from work with US-based NFPs to independent foreign entities. Sergey has led the restructuring of finance and accounting departments to ensure compliant fiscal policies, developed strategies to reduce financial deficit, improved cash flow to settle debts, addressed audit findings to bring organizations to a good standing status, and reallocated investments in the portfolio to maximize returns. He has diverse experience creating and managing multicultural teams of financial professionals.
As head of the Project HOPE Finance team, Sergey ensures compliance with all financial regulators, maintains the company’s financial statements integrity, and leads the strategic budget process.
Sergey received MBA in Finance from California State University, East Bay.
