FAQs
Is my cryptocurrency donation tax-deductible?
Your cryptocurrency donation is tax-deductible since the IRS classifies it as property, making it one of the most tax-efficient ways to support Project HOPE. When donating crypto, you’ll receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of the crypto, and you avoid the capital gains tax you would have incurred if you had sold the crypto and then made a donation. If you provide your email address, you will automatically receive a tax receipt after making your gift.
