Julia Soyars leads Project HOPE’s global legal and compliance strategy, ensuring the NGO maintains a culture of integrity and transparency. Julia has devoted more than two decades of her legal career to humanitarian causes. Prior to joining Project HOPE in October 2016, Julia served as General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors of the Grameen Foundation USA for 11 years. he also worked in the legal department at The American National Red Cross, handling domestic and international transactions for 11 years. Julia began her legal career as an associate with Pillsbury, Madison, and Sutro in Washington, D.C. She holds a JD Magna Cum Laude and a B.A. Cum Laude in Sociology from Syracuse University. Julia is a founding member of the Council of Counsels and a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
