Latin America & Caribbean

Supporting local health workers, strengthening health systems, and responding to disasters and conflict

The Context

Project HOPE has worked in communities throughout Latin America and the Caribbean since 1962, when the SS HOPE first docked in Peru. Over the years, our reach in the region has expanded to several successful long-term programs, including maternal and child health work in Colombia, the Dominican Republic, and Ecuador; diabetes and empowerment programming in Mexico; hurricane responses throughout the Caribbean; and addressing humanitarian crises in Haiti, Colombia, and Ecuador.
