Asia

Supporting local health workers and addressing health disparities across noncommunicable diseases, maternal and neonatal health, and more

The Context

Project HOPE’s work in Asia began in 1960 with the S.S. HOPE’s maiden voyage to Indonesia and Vietnam. Then, in 1983, Project HOPE became one of the first international organizations to work in China, helping to modernize the country’s health services. Throughout Asia, we’ve addressed health disparities by training health workers, expanding noncommunicable disease programs, improving maternal and child health services, and responding to disasters.
