Andrea Dunne-Sosa

Senior Regional Director, Domestic & Multi-Regional Programs

As Senior Regional Director, Andrea Dunne-Sosa is responsible for developing and directing the organization’s health programs in the United States and US territories, as well as a portfolio of multi-regional global health initiatives. She works closely with strategic partners, donors, health sector leaders, and communities to strengthen health systems for medically underserved populations in the US and around the world.      

Dunne-Sosa is a public health specialist with more than 20 years of experience managing programs in Latin America, Asia, Africa, and the United States.  She started her career as a peer educator and advocate in the early years of the HIV/AIDS pandemic and has since worked in diverse areas of health, including maternal child health, infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and COVID-19, noncommunicable diseases including asthma and diabetes, and mental health and resilience. She is particularly passionate about health system strengthening and the role of health workers in creating linkages to care for diverse populations.      

Dunne-Sosa served as a US Fulbright Scholar in the Dominican Republic, focused on the role of community health workers in the national health system.  She is fluent bilingual in English and Spanish, having lived in five US states, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic. 

Dunne-Sosa holds a Master’s in Public Health from Columbia University, as well as a BA in Cultural Anthropology.
