Project HOPE Celebrates Opening of Renovated Health Clinic in Ukraine

On September 5, 2025, Project HOPE celebrated the opening of a newly renovated outpatient health clinic in the previously occupied village of Mykulychi in the Kyiv region of Ukraine.

On September 5, 2025, Project HOPE celebrated the opening of a newly renovated outpatient health clinic in the previously occupied village of Mykulychi in the Kyiv region of Ukraine. The medical facility, which serves more than 2,500 people – around 10% of whom are internally displaced persons – was damaged by shelling in the first months of the full-scale invasion. It was partially restored, and in February 2025, Project HOPE, with support from the Government of Malta and Lincoln Electric Products Co., launched a major renovation project to fully renovate and improve the facility.

Project HOPE carried out a comprehensive capital renovation following an assessment of its condition and needs. The work included roof replacement, insulation of the ceiling, floor, and facade; installation of new utility networks; interior finishing; replacement of windows with energy-saving double-glazed units; and installation of a solar power station to ensure the facility’s energy autonomy. In addition, the clinic was supplied with essential medical equipment and furniture, and an inclusive restroom was installed, all of which will improve the quality and accessibility of health care for the community.

“The uniqueness of this project lies not only in implementing modern energy-efficient solutions, but also in creating a mural on the building’s façade in the style of Petrykivka painting,” Yuliia Rudnichenko, Project HOPE’s Program Manager, said. “Our projects are not only about construction — they are about life, culture, and hope that we bring back to people along with new spaces.”

“After the de-occupation of our community, we actively began rebuilding, since many facilities had been destroyed. But it would have been impossible to do this alone,” said Petro Perevoznyk, Head of the Nemishayeve Village Council. “Thanks to our joint efforts, today the outpatient clinic has been restored and is ready to provide quality services to our residents.”

The clinic is now fully operational and already serving patients. From now on, Mykulychi residents have a modern and energy-efficient facility where they can receive quality primary health care close to home, while medical staff work in comfortable and safe conditions.
