Project HOPE Welcomes New Board Leaders

Washington, D.C. (12 December 2024) – Project HOPE is excited to announce the addition of Maria Clarke, CFA and Jerry Solomon to its Board of Directors. Clarke brings over two decades of investment management expertise and is Executive Director at J.P. Morgan Private Bank, while Solomon brings extensive leadership experience in digital operations and nonprofit consultation.

“Maria and Jerry join our board at a critical time. Their combined expertise in financial strategy and brand development will be invaluable as we strengthen our ability to respond effectively to global health crises,” said Rabih Torbay, Project HOPE’s President and CEO.

At J.P. Morgan Private Bank’s Washington, D.C. office, Clarke advises prominent clients on investments, credit, lending, and estate strategies, with a focus on pre- and post-liquidity planning and portfolio construction. She holds an MBA in finance from the University of Miami, a BS in finance and corporate law from Florida State University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Her board service includes roles with the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at Virginia Tech, Rosalind Franklin School of Medicine and Science in Chicago, and the Virginia Bio Association.

“It’s an honor to join Project HOPE and advance global health through sustainable resource management. I’ve been consistently impressed by Project HOPE’s ability to create lasting impact through meaningful partnerships and look forward to strengthening its capacity to support communities around the globe,” said Clarke.

Solomon currently serves as a consultant for two nonprofits and production companies. Previously, he was the COO and Chief Digital Officer at Centr, leading the merger of Chris Hemsworth’s digital fitness platform with Inspire Fitness. His track record includes transforming MotorTrend Group into an omni-channel media business and growing Epoch Films from $35M to $85M in revenue. His work has earned an Emmy Award for “Love Has No Labels” and multiple Cannes Lions and Clio awards. He was named among Digiday’s Top 100 Emerging Media Executives and served as Chairman of the Association of Independent Commercial Producers (2014-2016).

“Project HOPE has built an incredible legacy of humanitarian impact over the past 65 years. I look forward to leveraging my expertise in brand development to help reach more communities in need and inspire greater global support for its life-saving work,” said Solomon.
