Project HOPE is pleased to announce the addition of Adam Schechter, Chairman, President and CEO of Labcorp, to its Board of Directors. Schechter brings over three decades of experience across the diagnostics and health care sectors.

“Like Project HOPE, Adam believes in a world where everyone, everywhere has access to quality healthcare,” said Rabih Torbay, Project HOPE’s President and CEO. “That perspective, coupled with his passion for serving the most vulnerable communities, is what makes us so excited to have him join the board.”

Schechter became President and CEO of Labcorp in November 2019 and Chairman of the Board in 2020. Under his leadership, Labcorp has focused on delivering patient-centered healthcare solutions through diagnostics and drug development services.

Prior to joining Labcorp, Schechter served in various leadership roles over a 30-year career at Merck & Co., ensuring medicines and vaccines were available to people around the world. He serves on the boards of the American Clinical Laboratory Association (ACLA), Water.org, and DaVita, Inc. and is a member of the Corporate Advisory Council for the National Alliance for Hispanic Health.

“I’m honored to join the Board of Directors for Project HOPE – an organization that has a long legacy of transforming the health and wellbeing of people and communities around the world,” said Schechter. “I look forward to supporting their efforts to address health inequities and empower health care workers so that anyone anywhere can access quality health care.”

“Adam brings a depth of experience and expertise to Project HOPE at a critical time as we address the growing need for humanitarian assistance around the world,” said Project HOPE’s Board Chair Reynold Mooney. “His senior level perspective, board experience, and health care knowledge will be a great asset to us as HOPE expands our services to those in need.”
