Jim is a Partner at BakerHostetler. He is a Co-Leader of the Healthcare team and works with a wide range of healthcare systems, academic medical centers, hospitals, large physician specialty groups, vertically integrating payers, emerging healthcare tech companies and other major players in the provision of health care across the country and overseas. Jim’s 40 years of legal experience traverses a broad range of healthcare law, including mergers and acquisitions; private equity transactions; joint ventures; corporate structure and board governance issues; accountable care organizations under the Affordable Care Act, including the utilization of AKS and Stark Law waivers; complex outsource arrangements; managed care arrangements; antitrust consulting; Medicare and Medicaid regulatory consulting, corporate compliance matters and handling resulting investigations. He previously served as a partner with Norton Rose Fulbright LLP healthcare transactional practice across the United States.
Jim was named “Lawyer of the year” for healthcare law in St. Louis in 2016 by Best Lawyers and is a recommended lawyer for Healthcare: Service providers by Legal 500 in the US. Mr. Wiehl earned his J.D., University of Notre Dame Law School in 1979, and was B.A., cum laude, governmental and International Relations, University of Notre Dame in 1976. He is admitted to practice in Missouri and Texas admission pending.
